The distance between the adult and the inner child

Reconnecting with your inner child is not simply a visualisation exercise. It is a return to the source, an intimate journey towards the part of us that once knew how to laugh for no reason, create without purpose, and love without fear.

And yet, for many people, this bond seems broken. It feels impossible to remember a light-hearted childhood, or even to feel that simple, spontaneous joy.

Why? Because our psyche, in its protective wisdom, has built walls around early wounds. When the child was hurt, misunderstood or judged, they learned to hide. The adult, in order to survive, added layers: reason, performance, control, emotional distance.

But behind these layers, the same light is still there. Joy has not disappeared, it is simply waiting for us to come and find it, patiently.

For some people, emotional amnesia has settled in. The body remembers fear, but not laughter. The mind is saturated with obligations, and lightness becomes almost suspicious.

We have learned to do rather than to be. To deserve love rather than to feel it.

To become curious, vulnerable and alive again.

I no longer really know how to speak to you.
